The Republic of India celebrates - 75th year of Independence - Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
We wish to remember our ancestor’s sacrifices to remind - that “Freedom is not free. It’s a responsibility”
A historical dance drama represents the freedom struggle against the British colonization of India. The production dates back to the 16th century leading to the arrival of the East India British Company for trading and culminating with India's Independence in 1947. This performance provides an artistic overview of the slavery of the Indian population under terrifying British rule, which shifted unimaginable wealth from India to the United Kingdom.

RESPONSES FROM THOSE WHO SAW THE FIRST SHOW IN USA
Loved reliving our history, some of which I was never aware of. I loved how you included and portrayed various leaders from various parts of the country, who are often overlooked. I loved how every war scene was different and unique, even though it was still a war scene. This couldn't have been easy, and speaks volumes about the creativity behind choreography. I loved watching all the artists perform with vigor, which showed how much they believed in your production which again speaks to your leadership and love towards the arts.

Dear Prasanna and Seema, Hats off to you both for the mega production Of Samarpan . The tales of our freedom beautifully woven around the many forms of dances of India was a treat to our eyes. We could see the countless hours of work you all put in to bring this to fruition. It was a goosebump moment for me , as I sang along to Jana Gana Mana reverberating through the auditoriums of Touhill . Thank you both and to the entire team of Samarpan Vande Maataram
